Boeing planes are dominating the news cycle as they continue to mysteriously malfunction and malfunction in the air.
While Boeing seems to be the obvious culprit, Glenn Beck is no longer convinced it’s purely the company’s fault.
Glenn had a conversation with a close friend who had been a pilot for American Airlines for 30 to 40 years and was fed up with news about Boeing.
The former pilot pointed out that all Boeing aircraft not only undergo a final inspection, but also a final inspection from the government.
“What I think is there is a problem with maintenance. It’s going to be a union problem because no one has that personal pride of ownership anymore,” Glenn reminds me of what a friend said.
“He’s not saying they’re innocent, but he’s saying they’re taking more than their share of the blame for this,” Glenn explains.
“It’s not surprising that an institution is covered by the media,” Stu Bruguiere added.
The onus may still lie with Boeing, but Glenn wonders who else should take the blame.
“Is it Boeing? Is it the FAA, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, the airlines, the mechanics?” Glenn asked before starting to question another former airline pilot from Kansas named Michael. I ask.
“I’m United’s retired captain,” he tells Glen. “I don’t think it’s Boeing.”
However, Boeing’s focus may be in the wrong place.
“I honestly didn’t know if it was a DEI culture or not. But there is definitely a culture that holds us back from perfection,” he added.
