One of the most important types of relationships we form in life is friendship. Friends are special people who give you a shoulder to cry on when times are tough. They are there to give words of encouragement when needed and celebrate life’s special moments and milestones.
But unfortunately, due to time and distance, friendships can fade and cease to exist. But some are strong enough to overcome such hurdles, such as four women who attended the same high school in California in the 1950s. Despite the passage of time, the four elderly women remain friends. They currently live in the same nursing home.

“We had prom every year,” Joan Harris said. “We had a girls’ basketball team, and we played against other Catholic girls’ high schools. We had typing, we had music, we had art.”
Even in their old age, they understand how valuable and important friendships are now. Time spent together means everything to them.
“I think friendship is very important,” Sylvia Crane said. “And it’s great to have old friends. There’s a lot of people who have passed away. It’s very important to me to know that I still have these three wonderful women around me.”
