Bills chances barely budge after Stefon Diggs trade

Despite an offseason filled with departures in the Stefon Diggs trade, the Bills remain a Super Bowl contender.

Buffalo’s Lombardi Trophy odds fell slightly on Wednesday after the Bills shipped their star receiver to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round pick via the Minnesota Vikings, with next year’s odds at BetMGM Sportsbook. He went from +1200 to +1400 on the way to winning the Super Bowl.

They were tied with the Detroit Lions for fourth-best odds on the board. The Bills currently have the fifth-best Super Bowl odds, along with the Cincinnati Bengals and Texans, whose odds for the Super Bowl shot up after the trade.

The San Francisco 49ers (+600), Kansas City Chiefs (+650), and Baltimore Ravens (+900) round out the top three.

Diggs, 30, is just the latest talent to leave the Bills as they try to escape salary cap hell.

Buffalo lost three defensive secondary pieces in safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer and cornerback Tre’Davious White, as well as No. 2 receiver Gabe Davis, who was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency. .

Diggs is owed $75 million over the next four seasons, including $18.5 million guaranteed this year.

The Bills are the favorites to win the AFC East, having won the championship for four consecutive seasons, but two teams are close behind.

Buffalo (+160, FanDuel Sportsbook) narrowly holds off the Miami Dolphins (+170) for the top spot in the division, while the New York Jets (+240) hold their spot as well.

The team finished the season with an 11-6 record and once again missed out on a Super Bowl berth after losing in the regional round to the eventual champion Chiefs in January.

The Bills have made the playoffs five times under Josh Allen, but have yet to reach the Super Bowl despite being consistent favorites for the past five years.
