U.S. Border Patrol on Tuesday arrested 182 Chinese nationals who illegally entered the United States through a key stretch of the southern border, Fox News reported.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials told Fox News that the country has seen large numbers of Chinese migrants in recent months.
Since October 1, more than 22,000 Chinese nationals have been arrested by Border Patrol.

The number of Chinese nationals arrested for illegal entry has increased dramatically in recent years, from 342 in 2021 to 22,233 since the start of the 2024 fiscal year on October 1.
In fiscal year 2022, 1,987 arrests occurred and in fiscal year 2023, 24,125 arrests were reported.

One immigrant who spoke to Fox News said he got inspiration for his difficult journey from a Chinese social media app. He said he gathered information from online sources to learn how to reach the United States, including routes, border navigation and how to dispose of information to avoid origin tracking.
