Illegal immigrant in Illinois accused of nearly decapitating his wife in front of their two children

An undocumented immigrant who only illegally crossed the border into the United States about two weeks ago is accused of brutally stabbing his wife to death and nearly decapitating her in front of their two children.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 1, 2024, Baltazar Perez-Estrada entered the Carol Stream, Illinois Police Department and reported to authorities that he had stabbed his wife, 26-year-old Maricela Simon Franco.
