Just six months ago, President Biden declared, “I am a Zionist,” pledging unwavering support for Israel. Given the political winds blowing in Israel at the time, following the worst attack since the founding of the Jewish state in 1948, the American commander in chief was willing to comply.
Now, America’s president, who has lost control of his country, is embarking on a new course for the Middle East. This week, the White House announced that Biden called for an immediate ceasefire for Israel in its war against the perpetrators of the October 7 attack.
This is because Biden is seeking a two-state solution for Michigan and Nevada.
Progressives in these battleground states are furious that Israel is waging a legitimate war of self-defense. why? Because innocent civilians are dying.
Their anger ignores Hamas’s dirty tactics of hiding among civilians and civilian infrastructure. Never mind that Hamas took pride in raping Jewish women and gleefully paraded their broken and bloody bodies as symbols of Palestinian pride. Never mind that entire Jewish families were burned alive in their homes on a per capita scale that dwarfs America’s 9/11. They seem to forget that Hamas continues to hold hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians captive along with Americans.
The blind religion of today’s modern American progressives equates strength with immorality and whiteness with sin. Similarly, industry and wealth are products of corrupt patriarchy and are therefore unjust. Despite the fact that 20 percent of Israelis are progressive-minded Arabs, because of Israel’s strength, prosperity, and whiteness, it oppressively occupies territory that has been inhabited since the time of Moses. .
This corrupt and ignorant thinking is disrupting traditional political boundaries. It threatens to weaken America’s most loyal allies in the Middle East and undermine the very foundations of Western civilization.
Israel is guilty of violating the first law of war: surprise. The Israel Defense Forces sends warnings of impending attacks weeks in advance of offensive action. Anyone who has studied the art of war and military science knows that Israel’s humanitarian desire to save innocent lives by predicting future attacks goes against all historical teaching on the subject. . Never before had an army worked so hard to avoid civilian casualties.
Armchair generals who have never been to war naively believe that modern nations can conduct “civilized” conflicts, where military intelligence and precision weapons can prevent bloodshed. This is a fairy tale. Wars are bloody, innocent people die, and humanity’s worst atrocities are committed. There’s a reason why up to a third of Americans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan now suffer from PTSD. It’s a good thing there’s no war.
Biden’s policy team thinks otherwise. They sought to blunt Prime Minister Netanyahu’s vow that “we will be neutralized.” [Hamas] Relentlessly avenge this dark day that they have brought upon Israel and her people. ” On March 7, the president ordered the U.S. military to establish a temporary aid port off the coast of Gaza. On March 25, the Biden administration refused to veto a United Nations resolution calling for a ceasefire. next, phone Biden met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday and called for an immediate ceasefire. Like Biden’s other foreign policy failures on Afghanistan, Iran, and Ukraine, the president’s ultimatum to Israel is a recipe for prolonging the conflict. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the president was shaken by an Israeli bomb attack on an aid team at the World Central Kitchen that killed seven aid workers. The convoy’s patron was chef José Andres, who later accused Israel of “starving the entire population.” The very existence of Andres’ employees belies that notion, but it’s hard to fault the chef for perpetuating the same “good war” myth as President Biden and his senior cabinet members.
Fortunately, American voters are smarter than weak leaders. February Harvard University and Harris University Poll It has been revealed that the US approval rating for Israel is at an extremely high 82%. 67% said a ceasefire should only take place if all hostages are released and Hamas is removed from power.
Congress and the Israeli Prime Minister would be wise to continue to ignore the president.
