The United States believes an Iranian attack on Israel may be imminent and has instructed Israeli diplomatic staff not to travel far from their homes in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the southern cities of Beersheba.
The warning comes as Iran threatens to retaliate against Israel for an April 1 airstrike in Damascus, Syria, that killed two generals and five officers responsible for attacks on Israel by terrorist proxies in recent months. This was issued after he had made a threat.

The United States on Thursday announced restrictions on personal travel for Israeli expatriates and their families outside the Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beersheba metropolitan areas, following Iranian threats of retaliation against regional adversaries.
Iran has vowed to retaliate for the April 1 airstrike on its embassy compound in Damascus, further escalating tensions in a region already tense due to the Gaza war.
“Out of an abundance of caution, U.S. government employees and their families are restricted from personal travel outside of the greater Tel Aviv area (including Herzliya, Netanya, and Ehudah), Jerusalem, and Beersheba areas until further notice.” Announced. The U.S. Embassy said in a safety alert on its website Thursday. “U.S. government personnel are permitted to travel between these three regions for personal travel.”
Israeli Army Radio anchors were a little perplexed by the US announcement and asked if the information was based on accurate information. They pointed out that the United States had inadvertently verified the residence of local personnel.
