Brandon Aiyuk’s agent denies receiver requested trade from 49ers

Will Brandon Aiyuk return to the 49ers? who knows.

But his agent has indicated he has not requested a trade.

Citing a report of a tweet in which Aiyuk said:requested a transactionIn response to a query from the team, agent Ryan Williams responded that the alleged NFL insider “needs a better source of information.”

The star wide receiver is scheduled to make more than $14 million this season with his fifth-year option before hitting free agency next offseason.

The 2020 first-round pick, who turned 26 in March, has been the subject of offseason rumors since the 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February.

Aiyuk’s girlfriend added fuel to the fire over rumors that the receiver may be trying to leave San Francisco with strange social media messages.

She clashed with 49er fans on social media a week later over Aiyuk’s future.

Since then, rumors have circulated that Aiyuk could be a target for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he has done little to dispel them.

Aiyuk has 3,931 receiving yards in his four-year career and has exceeded the 1,000-yard threshold in each of the past two seasons, including a career-high 1,342 yards last year.

Aiyuk also has 25 touchdown catches, including seven last season, since being selected 25th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot, 200-pound playmaker was named second-team All-Pro for the first time in his career in 2023.
