The House is scheduled to move articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after Biden administration officials testify at a Republican-led hearing at the Capitol.
Speaker Mike Johnson’s office told Fox News Digital that House impeachment managers plan to introduce the two House-passed articles to the Senate on Tuesday around 2:15 p.m.

Earlier in the day, Mayorkas is scheduled to appear at a likely contentious House Homeland Security Committee hearing to testify about President Biden’s fiscal year 2024 request for his department.
Of the 11 impeachment managers appointed by Mr. Johnson, eight are members of the committee, including Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.).
The two men were originally scheduled to make a ceremonial visit last Wednesday, but Johnson postponed the visit at the request of Republican senators who asked for the date to be changed to give them more time to file their case.

In February, the House passed two articles of impeachment against Mr. Mayorkas by a narrow 214-213 margin, both stemming from Republican-led outrage over Mr. Mayorkas and President Biden’s handling of the border crisis.
One accused him of “refusing to comply with federal immigration law” and the other accused him of violating “public trust.” According to a Fox News analysis, 7.2 million people have illegally crossed the border since Biden took office, more than the population of 36 states.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (New York) criticized House Republicans’ push for impeachment, but vowed to proceed quickly. When Johnson postponed the transfer last week, he renewed his vow, telling reporters: “I’m ready to move at any time. We’re sticking to our plans. We’re going to move this forward as quickly as possible.” ” he said.
But Republicans in the House and Senate have expressed concern that Schumer will move to dismiss the case immediately without holding a trial.
