Majority of Republicans Trust Trump More for Information on Ukraine

An overwhelming majority of Republicans believe former President Donald Trump is more trustworthy than the news media when it comes to information about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

CBS News/YouGov poll A survey of 2,399 American adults conducted April 9-12 found that 79% of Republicans trust President Trump with information about the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. I said yes.

Polls also show that Republicans who trust President Trump are more likely to support sending military and financial aid to Ukraine, compared to 60% of Republicans who say they trust the Pentagon with information. It was also found that the gender was low.

56% of Republicans say they trust conservative news organizations more with information about the Ukraine-Russia conflict, 33% of Republicans say they trust journalists who have been in combat zones, and 27% of Republicans say they trust journalists who have been in combat zones. % said they trust the State Department.

Another poll found that 31% of “self-proclaimed MAGA” Republicans said the U.S. should send aid to Ukraine, and 69% said the U.S. should not send aid to Ukraine. Meanwhile, 45% of “non-MAGA Republicans” said the U.S. should send aid to Ukraine, and 55% said the U.S. shouldn’t.

In February, the Senate passed a $95.3 billion emergency spending package aimed at providing food, water and humanitarian aid to people in the Gaza Strip, as well as military aid to both Ukraine and Israel.

In February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned that the country was facing an “artificial shortage” of weapons and said he had invited President Trump to Kiev.

Zelenskiy said in April that he contacted President Trump to invite him to visit Ukraine to change his mind about the need for more military aid.
