Two people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting during a block party in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday night, police said.
Memphis Police responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Kearns Avenue in the Orange Mound neighborhood at 7:19 p.m. Saturday night.
Officers found five people with gunshot wounds, two men were pronounced dead, and three other victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Interim Police Chief CJ Davis said at a news conference that police are working to find the suspect who carried out the shooting. He said police are aware of at least two suspects who fired shots during the block party.
Multiple crime scenes near Kearns Avenue and Grand Street were cordoned off while police investigated the shooting. The Memphis Fire Department sent multiple ambulances to the scene.

Police said the shooting happened at an unauthorized block party. There were 200 to 300 people in attendance.
