Deadly Florida carjacking: 3rd person of interest in custody; sheriff says ‘case is about drugs and money’

A third person of interest has been taken into custody in Puerto Rico as investigators continue to unravel the Florida carjacking that authorities believe left Catherine Altagracia Guerrero de Aguas-Vivas dead.

Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma announced Tuesday that Kevin Ocasio Justiniano, 28, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on unrelated drug trafficking and weapons charges. He is believed to have been the driver of the green Acura seen in the now-viral video of an armed carjacking at a busy Winter Springs intersection on April 11.

Another person of interest currently in custody in Justiniano’s case and an unrelated case, 28-year-old Jordan Torres Garcia, will be referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Both men are expected to be charged with carjacking resulting in death. Investigators believe Torres-Garcia was the man who approached a white 2017 Dodge Durango Aguas Vivas while brandishing a firearm.

“This case is about drugs and money,” Lema said in a statement. “We believe the most dangerous people involved in this incident have now left our city.”

A third person of interest, Giovanny Joel Crespo Hernandez, 27, was transported to Seminole County’s John E. Polk Correctional Facility late Monday night, according to the release. FOX 35 Orlando. He was wanted on unrelated drug charges.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Hernandez was the last person Aguas-Vivas spoke to on FaceTime before she was killed. Investigators believe she was on her way to meet Hernandez at her home in Casselberry “to deliver her money and other items.”
