Lauren Chen had lost interest in the Doctor Who series a while back because it had become oversaturated with woke propaganda.
“At this time, any discussion of Doctor Who on this channel… [is] It’s 100% from the perspective of “Let’s sit back and enjoy the dumpster fire happening right in front of us.”
That being said, she dives into her latest film starring Rwandan-Scottish actor Nkuti Gatwa as the Doctor. According to one report, Gatwa is being hailed as “the first black person and the first openly gay man to take on the role.” Entertainment Weekly article.
“What’s science fiction without black queer people?” scoffs Lauren, pointing to Disney’s constant propaganda of woke diversity.
“It’s crazy because reviews and ratings for Doctor Who have been going down and down for the last four years,” he said, adding: “For the first time ever, the BBC has teamed up with Disney+ to broadcast the show globally. And when the new season premieres on May 10th, it will be broadcast simultaneously around the world,” Lauren said, quoting the article.
The article also reports that the show will have a “bigger budget” and “bigger platform.”
If that doesn’t turn you off, Lauren says, “The team behind Doctor Who are complete ideologues.”
Screenwriter and producer Russell T. Davies said:[He] To find the perfect actor, we searched the galaxy and auditioned male, female, and non-binary actors from all kinds of diverse backgrounds.
However, Lauren is convinced that this is not true.
“They’re not looking for white men, especially not white straight men,” she says, adding that Hollywood’s version of diversity means “someone who’s not white, straight, and male.” Ta.
To make matters worse, Gatwa reported that he and on-screen partner Millie Gibson were interacting “like two girls laughing and gossiping at school.”
“Is that really the dynamic we want to see in the science fiction show Doctor Who?” Lauren asks.
But somehow things get even worse.
Gatwa, who has shown an affinity for wearing skirts, may end up continuing to wear her favorite outfit during filming.
“It seems like they’re going to make wearing a skirt part of this new Doctor’s identity,” Lauren says.
According to the article, “[Gatwa] He quickly became friends with costume designer Pam Down, and together they conceptualized the entire TARDIS wardrobe for the Doctor. ”
“She spread her sketches out on the table, and I saw kilts and skirts and all kinds of costumes that push gender and push society, and I thought, ‘Yeah, let’s do that.'” all of them‘ he said in an interview.
But a skirt alone is not enough for the actor.
He also said, “We need a big dance number!” That’s what I’m trying to put into the universe. We want the Doctor to do a big, violent dance where he twerks and destroys monsters. Or maybe some kind of death drops, which in turn drops monsters. ”
“Are you excited about a black, gay, cross-dressing Doctor Who?” Lauren asks wryly.
