Sadie Schreiner, a transgender college runner, won the women’s third event at the Division III Liberty League Championship meet on Saturday.
Schreiner, of Rochester Institute of Technology, won the 400 meters in 55.07 seconds and the 200 meters in 24.14 seconds.
Both times would have been the last in the boys’ race, but were school records in the girls’ race, according to the event. Site where competition results are posted.

Her 200-meter run time also set a Liberty League Conference women’s record (breaking the 24.50 second record set by Schreiner earlier this season).
Schreiner was also the anchor leg of the 4×400, which he won by almost 3 seconds. They were in her fourth place when Schreiner received the baton, but she ran the fastest anchor leg in the race.
Schreiner’s leg was clocked at 54.91 seconds, by far the fastest anchor leg in the race.
Schreiner, who was born a man named Camden and attended Hillsboro High School in New Jersey, owns the 20th best 100-meter time for a boy in school history (11.72 seconds) (though it would be the fastest for a girl).
Earlier this season, Schreiner set a girls school record in the 300 meters at the Nazareth Alumni Opening Invitational with a time of 41.80 seconds.
Schreiner’s 4×100 team finished fourth.

Schreiner recently posted on Instagram that he feels he doesn’t have an “automatic advantage” as a biological male.
“Of all the hate shared against me, the word ‘cheater’ is used the most… In my eyes, the discussion about transgender inclusion in athletics shouldn’t even be a debate. It’s…” Schreiner wrote. “The more research we do, the more this becomes clear. There’s a reason I can only run as fast as I did in middle school. The only variable that has changed in nine years of running is medication…
“Even though the Olympic research proves a disadvantage for trans athletes, that alone is not enough. Policies are changing before the research is complete and the only way to maintain knowledge in this process is to The only way to make educated decisions about underrepresented athletes is to speak on their behalf and include them in the conversation. Instead, listen to their voices.”
