David Pecker was ‘swatted’ the day he testified in Trump trial: Report

A former magazine publisher at the center of former President Trump’s criminal hush money trial was “knocked down” on the day Trump testified in the case. Reuters reported Monday.

An unidentified person claimed in an April 25 email that he had tied up his wife in the basement of his home and murdered a man at former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker’s office in Greenwich, Conn. I gave him the address.

Greenwich police wrote in a report reviewed by Reuters that officers were already stationed at Pecker’s home because of his involvement in the high-profile incident and there was no incident.

“Swatting” is an increasingly common form of internet harassment in which false reports attempt to elicit a potentially dangerous police response. Between December and January last year, multiple members of both parties were hit with a series of “swatting” incidents.

Mr. Pecker’s case appears to be the first time that someone connected to Mr. Trump’s lawsuit has been the victim of this practice.

Mr. Trump’s lawsuit alleges that Mr. Trump improperly paid hush money to cover up allegations of a past affair, and that Mr. The focus is on suspicions that he worked with Mr. election.

Mr. Pecker testified late last month that he helped Mr. Trump by burying allegations of extramarital affairs and other reports in order to support Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign.

“I made the decision to purchase this article because it could potentially embarrass the campaign and Mr. Trump,” Pecker testified.
