DNC calls Donald Trump ‘a con artist’ as he reportedly meets with NFT buyers

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has slammed former President Donald Trump as a “fraud” after reports that he was dining with donors who supported digital trading cards with his photo on them.

Trump will take a break from court on Wednesday to host a dinner at his Mar-a-Lago, Florida, mansion with donors who purchased Trump’s “Mugshot Edition” non-fungible tokens (NFTs). According to Axios.

In a statement first provided to The Hill, the Democratic National Committee called out President Trump for other products he has sold, including sneakers and Bibles.

“Donald Trump is nothing but a con man who has deceived the American people time and time again, and this election is no different. Trump has sold pirated sneakers, peddled his Bibles, and promoted NFTs.” said Alex Floyd of DNC Rapid. response director.

“While President Trump continues to support his laughably misguided McGanomics policies that prioritize his ultra-wealthy friends over his hard-working families, Americans are not being fooled by the work of con artists. Voters sees through President Trump’s endless frustrations and will reject his radical and unpopular brand at the polls in November.”

President Trump personally announced a new card in December, calling it the “Mugshot Edition,” after his mugshot was taken while surrendering at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia in August. At the time, he teased that if you buy 47 cards, you’ll “get one of the suits you wore in your ‘mugshot photo’ and an invitation to a gala dinner at Mar-a-Lago!” .

The former president began selling other trading cards in December 2022, selling out within 24 hours of announcing the first set.
