Escalating immigration arrests in the Swanton area have broken records every week since the beginning of April. The region, located along the U.S.-Canada border, continues to experience record-breaking migrant unrest month after month.
This week, Swanton District Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia reported that his agents arrested 492 immigrants during the week of April 28 to May 4. The record-breaking arrests exceeded the total number of immigrants detained in Vermont, a district that covers eastern New York. , and New Hampshire for the entire 2021 fiscal year, the year President Joe Biden took office.

The previous weekly record was set just one week ago when Swanton district officers arrested 220 immigrants during the week of April 22, Garcia reported.

During April, Swanton area officers arrested nearly 1,500 migrants, compared to just 676 migrants in April 2023, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas. It has more than doubled. Year-to-date totals for the Swanton area include more than 6,600 immigrants, an increase of nearly 100 percent compared to last year.
