Shocking video has revealed that a Washington family came within feet of an aggressive cougar that invaded their backyard and chased their beloved pet.
On Saturday, the big cat jumped out of the trees and into the Haveners’ Monroe backyard, where it quickly zeroed in on two other cats, according to security camera footage.
The cougar chased one of the felines at high speed, passing right by a mother and her young daughter, and even stared at them for a heart-stopping second before the two ran into the house. did.
“While I was relaxing washing my car, a cougar chased my two cats into the middle of my patio,” her father, Gregory Harfner, told Storyful about the incident.
“My wife and daughter (who were holding the new puppy) ran inside and I followed them to make sure they didn’t have any pets in their mouths,” he said.

The Haveners’ near-miss is one of a handful of cougar encounters in the past few months, including a Washington state cyclist who struggled for 45 minutes with one of the wildcats that jumped on one of his mates in March. Groups are also included.
