President Joe Biden took office declaring, “America is back.” Under President Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy, there was a belief, or hubris, that America was isolated and isolationist.
What Biden and his advisers missed was that Trump presided over four years of peace during which America’s enemies were in retreat.
By reversing President Trump’s policies, Biden has set the stage for continued wars in the Middle East and Europe.
1. Restoration of funds to UNRWA and the Palestinians. President Trump signed the Taylor Force Act, which prevents the United States from funding the Palestinian Authority while providing support for terrorism. President Trump also cut funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which promotes anti-Israel and anti-Semitic radicalism. Biden circumvented the Taylor Force Act and returned funds to UNRWA, whose employees were involved in the October 7 attack.
2. Lift sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Biden rescinded Trump’s sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline, despite four years of Biden, Democrats and the media insisting that Trump was a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He met with Putin in Geneva before meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Russia invaded Ukraine out of a perceived weakness, especially after the failed Afghanistan withdrawal.
3. Rejoin the corrupt UN Human Rights Council. Trump withdrew the US from the Human Rights Council (HRC), which is nothing more than a vehicle for anti-Israel and anti-American resolutions, allowing authoritarian states like Russia, Iran, Cuba, and China to cleanse themselves of their humanity. It was just a means to do so. Rights record. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 without worrying about the HRC. The Biden administration belatedly worked with other countries to oust Russia.
4. Trying to restore the Iran nuclear deal. President Barack Obama gave Iran billions of dollars in cash and billions more in sanctions relief and negotiated a weak nuclear deal that allowed Iran to become a nuclear power in about a decade. Trump withdrew from the agreement. Biden sent special envoy Rob Malley, who was later suspended for security violations, to negotiate with Iran. Iran deceived the US and accelerated its nuclear enrichment.
5. Remove the Houthis from the list of terrorists. President Trump has named Yemen’s Houthi rebel group, an Iranian militant group, as a foreign terrorist organization. Biden immediately removed the Houthis from the list of terrorists. Ostensibly to promote humanitarian aid to Yemen, it was also a gesture toward Iran and a disdain for Saudi Arabia. The Houthis continued their terrorist attacks. Currently, the Houthis are attacking international shipping ships in the Red Sea, disrupting global supply chains.
6. End sanctions on Iran. President Trump imposed various sanctions on Iran, but Biden immediately Reversed. As a result, Iran has gained billions in assets and access to global markets. It used that money to fund various foreign terrorist organizations: the Houthis, Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and various Iraqi militias that attacked Israel. The latter has also targeted American soldiers, but Biden has had little response.
7. Accept a Palestinian state. Mr. Trump’s Middle East peace plan was successful because it did not put a Palestinian state at its center. Trump has offered the Palestinians $50 billion if they end their extremism and recognize Israel’s right to exist. When the Palestinians refused, Trump pushed for successful peace negotiations with other Arab countries. By contrast, Biden has reportedly undermined 2023 peace talks between Saudi Arabia and Israel by insisting on establishing a Palestinian state.
8. Delaying the Abraham Accords. Although Biden officials did not initially formally oppose the Abraham Accords, reluctant In other words, it is “peace”. However, there has been no progress since the Trump administration left office. Not a single Arab country has been added to the list of participating countries. The Biden administration is reverting to its failed approach that peace depends on a Palestinian state, effectively giving the Palestinians a veto over peace in the region.
9. Remove sanctions against the ICC. President Trump imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its staff, freezing their U.S. assets and banning them from entering the U.S., but Biden has rescinded those sanctions, though the administration acknowledged the ICC’s anti-American and anti-Israeli bias. Currently, the ICC is seeking warrants against Israeli leaders over its war with Hamas, setting a precedent that makes the fight against terrorism impossible.
10. Lift sanctions against Venezuela. President Trump imposed sanctions on Venezuela due to President Nicolas Maduro’s human rights violations and dictatorial behavior. But Biden eased sanctions on Venezuela last year, allowing Venezuela to easily sell its oil and gas on the global market again and allowing Iran to benefit from building refineries in Venezuela. As Breitbart News noted at the time, Iran could use the additional fossil fuel revenues to fund terrorist proxies.
11. Oppose Israel at the United Nations. President Trump defended Israel at the United Nations Security Council after President Barack Obama authorized the passage of an anti-Israel resolution that declared even the presence of Jews in Jerusalem’s Jewish neighborhoods illegal. Biden similarly authorized the passage of a UN Security Council resolution distinguishing between a hostage deal and a ceasefire, effectively adopting Hamas’ negotiating position and urging it to strengthen his demands.
12. Israel threatens to surrender arms. President Trump has vowed that the United States will allow Israel to do whatever it takes to protect itself from terrorist groups and enemy nations. Biden has questioned this from the beginning, now warning that he will withhold bomb shipments from Israel and also withhold artillery if Israel dares to defeat Hamas. Biden also restrained Israel’s response to a direct missile attack by Iran.
13. Sanctions against Israelis. Biden imposed sanctions on Israel against ostensibly “extremist” settlers. But Biden’s sanctions terms are so broad that they could apply to many more Israelis. The sanctions are in response to the Trump administration’s anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. called “Anti-Semitic” In times of war, sanctions also show Hamas and other terrorists that they are winning.
