Florida man convicted of murder at 19 running for city council, calling for more police and youth resources

A Florida man previously convicted of murder in Massachusetts is now running for Palm Bay City Council, hoping to bring positive change to the coastal town.

Michael Bruyette, 59, beat a man to death in June 1985 and spent 30 years in prison before being released on parole with special conditions in 2016, according to state records.
