Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) has suggested voting against President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election because of his handling of the ongoing war in Gaza and his support for Israel.
Speaking at the Palestinian People’s Congress in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, Tlaib said: Hit Biden said Israel’s war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip is “not genocide.” “What’s going on right now is not genocide,” Biden said at a Jewish American Heritage Month event on May 20. Biden’s comments came after the International Criminal Court announced it was seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as several Hamas leaders.

During her speech, Tlaib commented that voters “will not forget” the presidential election in November.
“You don’t need me to tell you that you’re on the right side,” Tlaib told the crowd, “but I’d be damned if they did the right thing in this moment and they have to wait 10 years to apologize to all of you.”
Tlaib went on to accuse the U.S. government of sending “billions of dollars” to Israel every year, which she said is an “apartheid government.”

The Michigan congresswoman added, “It is shameful that the Biden Administration and my colleagues in Congress continue to smear those protesting to save lives, regardless of their faith or ethnicity.”
Tlaib’s comments were directed at Biden and lawmakers who condemned the anti-Israel protests and encampments that took over college campuses in April and May.

“It’s a cowardly act,” Tlaib added. “But we won’t forget in November. The International Court of Justice just ordered the Israeli government to stop the invasion of Rafah. But President Biden says what’s happening in Gaza is not genocide. President Biden, where are your red lines?”
This is not the first time Tlaib has urged voters to vote against Biden. In February, Recommended According to NBC News, Michigan voters are expected to vote “unaffiliated” in the state’s primary election.
