The claim is false and the image has been digitally altered: the original image of Mr Sunak published online via Getty Images shows the British prime minister posing in front of a “Morrisons” sign.

Mr Sunak is due to debate Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer on ITV on June 4. BBC NewsAccording to the media, the debate will take place ahead of the UK elections on July 4th.

The Facebook image shows Mr Sunak standing in front of a sign reading “Idiot”. Above Mr Sunak’s image it says: “A good photographer takes the time to take a picture…” In the image, Mr Sunak is smiling and wearing a white dress shirt and red tie.
