The left’s political strategy of calling former President Donald Trump a “convicted felon” to thwart voters’ support will not work, according to Carolyn Leavitt, national spokeswoman for the Trump campaign. Breitbart News Saturday.
“This was part of the Democratic political strategy to move this case forward. And anyone who doesn’t see that is blind. I mean, Matt, that’s exactly what they want to do is call President Trump a convicted felon,” she said after a Manhattan jury found him guilty on all 34 charges in Trump’s business records trial.
Leavitt predicted that Americans will hear them use the phrase “a billion times between now and Election Day in November.”

“And they’re going to try to use that to dissuade voters from voting for him, but it’s not going to work,” she predicted, noting that a conviction would do President Biden no favors.

“This conviction doesn’t make Joe Biden stronger. It doesn’t make Joe Biden more effective. It doesn’t solve inflation. It doesn’t solve the border crisis that’s wreaking havoc on every American community across this country. It doesn’t stop the war in Israel or Gaza. People are suffering across this country. They’re worried about inflation. They’re worried about rising gas prices. They’re worried about rising rent prices. They don’t want to see any more illegal immigrants flooding our border. And instead of focusing on solving the problems he created, Joe Biden has allowed America to go further into hell while he prosecutes President Trump,” Leavitt explained, noting that Democrats don’t even realize this, which is a good thing for Trump.
“They don’t realize that. Let them talk nonsense until Election Day. Let them deny the reality of the problems that the American people face in this country, because President Trump is talking about those problems every day, offering solutions and exposing the truth about our corrupt, weaponized justice system,” she continued.
