In 1979, Islamic fundamentalists overthrew the pro-American shah of Iran and took more than 50 U.S. diplomats hostage for 444 days. Not surprisingly, the crisis dominated the U.S. media and adversely affected Carter’s foreign policy management.
In an eerily similar situation, Hamas has been holding hostages for 250 days now, including American hostages. What is our media doing? It is still on Hamas’ side, Glenn Beck He remains one of the only people reminding Americans of the days their countrymen have been locked up.
Last Saturday, the IDF succeeded in rescuing four hostages who had been held captive for 245 days, and the mainstream American media has focused on the damage that has been done in the Gaza Strip. It has ignored the fact that Hamas has built its headquarters under a hospital in the Gaza Strip, where it keeps its hostages with civilians, and kills its captors before rescue operations. More importantly, the IDF rescue operation has resulted in casualties in the Gaza Strip, which, incidentally, have only been reported by Hamas and other groups in the Gaza Strip.
Glenn Beck and Stu BruguiereThough they are acutely aware of the harmfulness of the media, they have never seen it this bad before.
“I really liked the comment in the news that Israel should have warned Hamas before coming,” Glenn says sarcastically, “and I thought it was unfair that we didn’t call them during the Normandy landings. [Hitler] They stand up and say, “Hey, we’re coming over here in a few hours, you’d better be ready.”
To add to the confusion,[America] “Apparently he supported the attack.” But Glenn and Stu are skeptical, given Biden’s ambivalent stance on the war and the media’s penchant for being sympathetic to Hamas.
“Would Israel accept our help with something like this?” Glenn asks.
