Lee called police and filed a misdemeanor assault charge against the customer.

However, FOX 13 reports the man may be suing her in small claims court for money to pay for the windshield.

Lee says she’s not worried about being hauled before a judge, and that she shouldn’t be treated any differently to other baristas just because she serves coffee in a revealing swimsuit.

“Why should this kind of interaction be expected because of the circumstances? It’s disgusting,” Lee said. “It’s fine for him to be upset, but is it not appropriate for me to respond?”

upon InstagramLee shared some of the CCTV footage showing the altercation.

Some viewers spoke out, saying she was justified in hitting the customer’s car with a hammer.

“I showed this to my kids! If we reacted like this fewer men would think it was ok to talk to us like this,” one fan wrote. “He would never do that to a man. What did you do to deserve this? What did any of us do? You existed. You are truly a national treasure.”

“Smashing a hammer into a windshield felt so good!” a second person cheered. “I’m so glad you stood up not only for yourself but for all of us women in this industry!! We deal with this situation every day! I hope others learn from this interaction.”

However, some were less impressed with Lee’s response.

“So you committed a felony, aggravated assault on him…not a good look,” one person said bitterly. “I hope your relationship with your dad gets fixed.”
