Gov. Doug Burgum (R-North Dakota) said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” that the United States under President Joe Biden’s rule is a “dictatorship.”
“There are a lot of people in the media talking about the possibility of jailing people who disagree with former President Trump, about the possibility of putting people in detention centers, about the possibility that a second term for Trump could put our entire system of government at risk of collapse,” host Martha MacCallum asked. “What would you say to them?”
“Martha, I think you know this is stupid,” Burgum said. “The Democrats seem to have two strategies: One, be afraid. And the second, be even more afraid.”
She added, “Under Joe Biden, we are now effectively living under a dictatorship. Biden has ignored Congress on immigration, he has ignored Congress on border protection, he has ignored Congress on student loan forgiveness, he has ignored the Supreme Court. So what authoritarians and dictators do is they don’t follow the democratic process and they assert their liberal views, and that’s exactly what the Biden administration is doing. So that’s what they’re really afraid of, when President Trump has the support of every group in America on the issues that matter most to most Americans: the border, inflation, interest rates.”
