Dems Fret Over Biden Campaigning on January 6, Trump, ‘Democracy’

Axios reports that Democratic Party officials are concerned about President Joe Biden’s theory of victory in November, which focuses on January 6, political violence, democracy and the character of Donald Trump, while polls show voters are most concerned about inflation and the economy.

“It’s unclear to many of us watching from the outside whether the president and his core team recognize how serious the situation is and whether they have a plan to solve it. And that’s scary,” the Democratic strategist said. Exit.

They are also concerned by polls that show Biden’s support declining among key Democratic voting groups, including black, Latino, younger voters and union members.

“People close to the president” told Axios that Biden’s longtime circle of loyal aides is afraid to raise such concerns in meetings because they could “ostracize opponents.”

“Even those closer to the center are afraid to be skeptical or question the current course for fear of being seen as disloyal,” one person told Axios. “There’s no argument that a change of course is necessary.”

Biden and his top advisers have asserted that their message is sound, arguing that voters will “do the right thing.”

Mike Donilon, a Biden aide, said earlier this year: New Yorker January 6th in November 2024 will be the same date as September 11th in the 2004 election in which Bush was re-elected.

Longtime Democratic strategist Howard Wolfson told Axios that if the election were held “today,” Biden would lose.

“Can that change? Yes. Are we heading in that direction? I don’t think so yet,” he said.

“The importance of the debate between Biden and Trump on June 27th is enormous,” he added.

Many Democrats believe Biden and his top advisers learned the “wrong lessons” from 2020, believing his “soul of the nation” message resonated with voters.

Rather, they believe Biden won the primary because the party came together to “stop Sen. Bernie Sanders” and chose the candidate that polls showed to be the most competitive.

“Biden didn’t win, Trump lost,” said one Democrat “close to the White House.”

One Democrat said the sentiment among Biden and his advisers was, “Wow, people really like us.”
