Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said on FNC’s “Hannity” on Friday that while the potential terrorism threat from illegal immigrants is a concern, everyday criminal activity is enough to thwart President Joe Biden’s reelection.
The Kentucky Republican said Biden could have stopped the border conflict if he wanted to.
“I agree with you,” he said. “I think terrorism is a big concern. Dozens, close to 200, are coming in from other countries. You see the lists, you see the interviews. They’re coming from Tajikistan, Egypt, Tunisia, all over the Middle East, China, everywhere. But this isn’t just terrorism. This is regular domestic criminal activity. That should be enough to remove Biden as a candidate. I mean, imagine what it would be like if the American people understood and knew that people like Laken Riley were murdered by someone that President Biden’s administration allowed into the country. The administration paroled them. The administration decided it was OK for them to come into this country.”
“And while they were here, when they were arrested for various crimes, nobody did anything, because they were in Democrat-leaning cities, sanctuary cities where just being arrested for a crime doesn’t get you deported. In fact, they block immigration officials from seeing their arrest records,” Paul continued. “So this is all Biden’s fault. And he pushed through the reforms and said, oh yeah, this is bipartisan reform, we’ll let in 2,500 people a day, and then we’re serious. Well, 2,500 a day is 900,000 people.”
“Biden has the authority to go to zero and that’s what I would do,” he added. “And so would Trump. Zero. Start from zero, don’t let anybody parole. Everyone’s turned away and guess what? When they see people being turned away, they stop coming. That’s how it has to be.”
