Linda Yaccarino, the chief executive of social media platform X, has revamped her entourage amid pressure from owner Elon Musk to boost sales and cut costs, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.
Earlier this month, Yaccarino fired his right-hand man, Joe Benarroch, his chief business operations and communications officer, the Post reported, citing three people familiar with the matter.
Company X did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the Reuters report.
Before joining X, then known as Twitter, in June 2023, Benarroch worked at Comcast Corp.’s NBCUniversal, where he oversaw communications strategy for the advertising and partnerships division and reported to Yaccarino, who was head of advertising.
According to the Financial Times, X’s head of international government relations, Nick Pickles, will take over from Benarroch in an expanded role that will include overseeing all international communications.
The reshuffle reportedly came amid growing tensions between Musk and Yaccarino as the latter struggled to stabilize X’s financial situation.
According to the FT, Steve Davis, a longtime ally of Musk and CEO of his company, The Boring Company, was brought in by Musk in April to oversee X’s financial and performance management.
