Former President Donald Trump says he has made up his mind about who he will be his running mate in November’s presidential election.

On Saturday, President Trump NBC News Ahead of a rally in Philadelphia, he said he had chosen his running mate.

When asked if he had made up his mind, Trump replied, “In my heart, yes.”

Trump was later asked if his chosen candidate knew he was the nominee, to which he replied, “No, nobody knows.”

Trump has said he may announce his choice at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next month.

“It could be sometime before, it could be during the convention,” Trump said, “but it’s going to be a great turnout.”

He added that the person would “probably” attend Thursday’s debate with President Joe Biden.

“They’re going to be there,” he continued. “I think a lot of people are going to be there.”

Brian Hughes, a senior adviser to Trump, has also said the campaign’s first criterion in choosing a running mate is “a strong leader who will be a great president for eight years at the end of the next four years.”
