An amusement park guest who was struck by a high-speed roller coaster last week has died from his injuries, authorities said.
Arntanaro Nelson, 38, of Wilmington, Ohio, was struck by the Banshee roller coaster on Wednesday at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, about 25 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
Nelson was found with “serious injuries” and rushed to a hospital for treatment. Ohio authorities announced Monday that Nelson died on Friday.
The Mason Police Department reported the victim was in a restricted area of the park at the time of the accident, and was reportedly searching under a vehicle for keys.

“Banshee features a series of breathtaking thrills including a 167 foot lift hill, a 150 foot curving first drop, a dive loop, a vertical loop around the lift hill, a zero gravity roll, two batwing inversions, an outside loop, a spiral, an in-line roll and a carousel – all at speeds of up to 68 mph!” the website reads.
“Due to the natural terrain beneath Banshee, passengers will experience a 208-foot elevation change from the ride’s highest point – the 167-foot-tall lift hill – to its lowest point, where the Batwing inversion is located.”
