RNC Files Motion to Enforce Proof-of-Citizenship Requirements for Arizona Voters

The Republican National Committee (RNC) and Arizona state legislators motion Officials announced Monday they were blocking a court ruling that would strike down the state’s proof of citizenship voting requirement.

“If passed, this motion would allow Arizona to implement a law requiring proof of citizenship to vote in this November’s presidential election or to vote by mail in any election,” the Republican National Committee said in a statement to Breitbart News.

The Republican Party Mentioned The fight is being seen as a “landmark” legal development regarding the integrity of Arizona’s elections as it is contested in federal district court.

“Our elections and the future of our country should be decided by the American people. Voting by foreign nationals compromises our elections and we will do everything in our power to stop it,” said Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley. “This complaint marks another important legal step in our fight to ensure a secure 2024 election.”

Gina Swoboda, chair of the Arizona Republican Party, echoed his sentiments, arguing that “our election results must reflect the voice of the American voter.”

“Votes cast by non-citizens risk devaluing their vote and silencing their voice,” Swoboda said in a statement obtained by Breitbart News. “This is a very real issue for Arizona, and one we are committed to solving.”

“The Arizona Republican Party and the Republican National Committee are working at every level to ensure our election properly reflects the will of Arizona voters,” state leaders added.
