Biden campaign raises $127M in June, touts best fundraising month so far

President Biden’s reelection campaign said it raised $127 million in June, its highest fundraising month of the campaign, and has raised a total of $264 million in the second quarter of 2024.

The company said the campaign entered July with $240 million in cash on hand, a second-quarter total that was $75 million higher than the first-quarter reported amount.

Despite criticism of Biden’s performance in the debate and calls for him to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, his campaign raised $38 million in the days following the first presidential debate.

The campaign said nearly two-thirds of its fundraising in June came from grassroots donors, including $30 million of the $38 million it raised after the debates. Last Thursday was the campaign’s strongest day for grassroots fundraising, and last Friday was the second-best.

Additionally, the campaign touted that 864,000 donors were added to its grassroots donor list in the second quarter. 95% of donations in the second quarter were under $200.

“Our second quarter fundraising numbers are a testament to the passionate and growing base of support that is steadfastly behind the President and Vice President and clear evidence that voters understand that this election requires them to choose between President Biden, who will fight for the American people, and President Donald Trump, who will fight for himself as a convicted felon,” campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.

Biden raised $85 million in May and had $212 million in cash in June.

Trump has not released details about his cash reserves but said he had raised a staggering $141 million in May, far outstripping Biden, and the Trump campaign reported raising $8 million on the day of the debate.
