Despite widespread panic among Democrats following President Joe Biden’s poor debate performance, Biden has made it clear he has no plans to withdraw from the debates.

See — what was that?! After a week of rest and preparation, Biden made it through the debate coughing, stumbling and rambling:

Biden and Harris took part in a conference call with campaign staff earlier this week and, in what The Associated Press described as a “peace of mind,” they assured staff they were in this for the long haul.

Biden then called an emergency meeting of Democratic governors, many of whom sent messages urging their support for the 81-year-old Biden.

Recent polls have shown that a significant percentage of Americans want Biden to replace them, including 32 percent of DemocratsAccording to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The same poll also shows that while Trump and Biden are neck and neck, Trump is beating nearly every Democratic candidate to replace Biden, including beating Harris 43% to 42%, Newsom 42% to 39%, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) 41% to 36%, Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) 40% to 36%, and Gov. JB Pritzker (D-Ill.) 40% to 34%.

Polls have shown only Michelle Obama leading Trump in a hypothetical match-up, but she has made it clear she has no intention of running for president.

“As former first lady Michelle Obama has stated many times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Crystal Carson, communications director for her office, said in March.

“Mrs. Obama supports the reelection campaigns of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” the statement added.

The survey coincides with a HarrisX/Forbes poll that found Trump leading by seven points in head-to-head contests against Harris and by five points in contests against third-party candidates.
