House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) is calling on White House physician Kevin O’Connor to explain President Joe Biden’s mental health and his past business dealings with the president’s brother.
“Following concerns about President Biden’s performance in the June 27 debate between former President Donald Trump, journalists rushed to report what Americans have seen clearly for years: The president seems unwell,” Comer said. I have written“The American people have doubts about President Biden’s ability to lead the nation, and the Oversight and Accountability Committee is investigating how you assessed in February of this year that ‘President Biden is a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old man who remains physically capable of successfully discharging the duties of the office of the presidency.'”
Comer continued, “It was recently reported that you ‘never recommended it.’ [President] “Mr. Biden should undergo cognitive testing. The Oversight Committee is concerned that your medical evaluation was influenced by your private business activities with the Biden family.”
In February Health ReportO’Connor maintained that Biden “remains fit for duty and has met all responsibilities in full, without any exemptions or accommodations.”
O’Connor’s Brilliant report Regarding President Biden, who will be discharged from the hospital in 2023, the White House physician praised him, saying, “President Biden remains a healthy and vibrant 80-year-old man with the physical strength to execute ably the duties of the Presidency, including the duties of Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.”
Rep. Comer is calling on Ms. O’Connor to appear for a recorded interview “regarding President Biden’s medical evaluation and her private involvement in the Biden family’s business dealings,” which Rep. Comer described as a “Biden family influence scheme.”
The Biden family business scheme in question involves O’Connor, the president’s brother, James Biden, and Americore Health LLC, a rural hospital operator currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.
In closed-door testimony in February, James Biden told the House Oversight Committee that O’Connor had worked as a consultant assisting Biden on proposals to “fill these hospitals” that Americore was hoping to profit from.
“As vice president, I’ve been in contact with his physician, Col. Kevin O’Connor,” James Biden said. interview.
Carol Fox, Americore’s bankruptcy trustee, previously told the committee that James Biden received $400,000 in loans from Americore and $200,000 from the president’s brother. Reportedly He claimed the Biden name could “open the door” to securing investment in the Middle East.
According to Comer, James Biden wrote his brother a check for $200,000 on the same day he received a $200,000 wire transfer from Americore, which House investigators determined was written as “loan repayment.”
Comer told O’Connor on Sunday, “You have repeatedly refused most interview requests from the media. Due to conflicting and confusing messages coming from the White House about the president’s ability to perform his job, the committee requires you to answer questions about your independence.”
“Given your ties to the Biden family, the committee also wants to understand whether you are in a position to provide an accurate, independent review of the President’s fitness to serve,” he added.
Comer requested “all documents and communications in your possession regarding AmeriCore and James Biden.”
