Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban flew nonstop from the NATO summit in Washington, DC, late Thursday night to meet with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
The pair met at Trump’s beachfront compound and shared photos of the moment on social media with the caption: “We discussed how to make amends. The good news today is he’s going to fix it!”

The Hungarian leader openly supported Trump’s candidacy in this year’s presidential election and expressed hope that the Republican could end Russia’s war in Ukraine through diplomacy rather than further bloodshed.
The EU’s longest-serving leader, who has long maintained close ties with Trump and other conservative Republicans, said he believes Trump’s new presidency represents “the only serious chance” of ending the Ukraine war.

Meanwhile, Trump has repeatedly said that if he was re-elected he could resolve the war “within 24 hours” by meeting with Putin and Zelensky, and, as Breitbart News reported, he also asserted that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if the Russian leader had remained in the White House.
AFP Reports White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan argued on Thursday that the meeting between Trump and Orban was contrary to Ukraine’s interests, saying, “The United States’ position — the Biden administration’s position — is that we don’t consider anything about Ukraine without Ukraine.”
“This adventurism, undertaken without Ukraine’s consent or support, is inconsistent with our policy, with U.S. foreign policy,” Sullivan told reporters, adding that he “cannot speculate on what exactly Mr. Orban might be up to.”
