Trump Says Biden Should ‘Immediately Take a Cognitive Test’: ‘All Presidential Candidates Should’

Former President Donald Trump has called for President Joe Biden to take a cognitive ability test, and has taken the call a step further by saying it should be required of all presidential candidates, regardless of age.

It’s not just Republicans who are talking about Biden’s apparent decline in both intellectual acuity and physical strength: Many Democrats are also actively urging him to withdraw from the presidential race and hand the baton to someone else.

But Biden remains defiant, explaining that “being visible in public helps ease my growing anxiety.” As rumors spread, Trump again called on Biden to volunteer to take the cognitive test, offering to do so himself.

“Joe should get cognitive testing immediately and I will be there with him to get tested,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“For the first time, we are a team, acting for our country. And from now on, all Presidential candidates, regardless of age, should be required to take cognitive and aptitude tests!!!” Trump added, strengthening his calls for cognitive testing of candidates.

Biden faced a question about whether he would take a cognitive test after publicly stating that he takes one every day in the course of his job. Biden further acknowledged that he has problems with his legs. However, when asked again if he would take an actual cognitive test, Biden reiterated his statement that his neurological abilities are “tested every day” through his daily decisions.

“I had three major neurological tests. [by ] He claimed he had seen a “neurologist” and that doctors said he was in “good condition.”

“The only thing that age helps is that if you pay attention, you get a lot of wisdom. So what I would say is that if the neurologist says he thinks I need to be re-tested, it’s important that I have all my records open,” he argued.

“Every day I’m surrounded by great doctors, and if they think there’s a problem,” he said, adding that if the doctors think he needs to undergo another neurological exam, “I’ll take it.”

“Nobody is encouraging me to do that,” Biden said, concluding, “No matter what I do, nobody is going to be satisfied.”
