Some attendees at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee are wearing makeshift ear bandages in support of former President Donald Trump after he was nearly assassinated, with some calling it “the latest fashion trend.”
Trump, 78, appeared at the convention on Monday night with a distinctive white spot above his right ear, which had been grazed by a bullet that grazed his head during gunfire at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Soon, others in the crowd were mimicking the style.

“I’m moving forward with this. I think everyone in the world will be wearing this soon. This is the latest thing,” he said.
“I’m breaking new ground in fashion here.”
“I folded it up on the bus on the way here out of sympathy for Donald Trump,” Neglia said.
“I just have sympathy for Donald Trump,” Neglia said. He added in an interview with The Guardian.
“I saw the man get shot. The man was about to give his life for his country. I think he deserves respect for that,” he said. He told the Guardian

video Post to X Also photographed at the convention were enthusiastic fans dressed as Uncle Sam and wearing earmuffs that read “Fight! Fight! Fight!” – the same words Trump yelled seconds after the gunman opened fire on Saturday.
Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a man armed with an AR-15-style rifle fired eight shots at him from a nearby rooftop.
Former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore was killed and two other attendees were seriously injured.

Just two days after his disappointing defeat, Trump made a surprise appearance at the convention and thrilled the crowd.
He won the Republican nomination almost unanimously and is expected to formally accept his candidacy as the next president of the United States on Thursday in his first speech since the shooting.
