JD Vance officially accepts VP nomination, promises to help restore American dream alongside Trump: ‘A night of hope’

Sen. J.D. Vance formally accepted the Republican nomination for vice president on Wednesday.

In a moving keynote speech concluding the third day of the Republican National Convention, Vance told the moving story of his own difficult upbringing and linked it to Trump’s policies of “Making America Great Again” and his promise to revive the American Dream.

“When I enter the White House to help President Trump, I will do so for you, for your families, for your future, and for this great country.”

“Tonight is a night of hope. A night to celebrate the America that was and, by God’s grace, that will soon be again,” Vance said.

“And it’s a reminder of our sacred obligation to defend the American experiment and to choose a new path for our children and our grandchildren,” he said.

Throughout his speech, Vance repeatedly criticized President Joe Biden as a career politician whose policies would only make America “weaker and poorer.”

Vance argued that the solution was President Trump’s “America First” policies.

“Joe Biden has been a politician in Washington longer than I’ve been alive,” Vance said. “For half a century, he’s been the champion of every major policy that has weakened and impoverished America.”

“In just four years, Donald Trump has reversed decades of betrayal by Joe Biden and other corrupt Washington insiders,” he continued. “Just imagine what he would do if we gave him four more years!”

Vance’s promise was simple: Trump would fight for working people and put the American people first.

When Trump took office, Vance promised us an economy that works for all Americans. He promised to solve the border and immigration crisis. He promised to restore American manufacturing. He promised a solution to the opioid crisis. And he promised to end the ruling class cashing checks at the expense of hardworking Americans.

Most importantly, Vance has pledged to serve the American people every time he comes to work.

“I pledge to every American, regardless of party, that I will do everything in my power to serve you and to make every dream you have for yourself, your family and your country a reality again,” Vance promised. “And I make one more promise: to the people of Middletown, Ohio, and to the people of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and every forgotten community in every corner of this country, I promise you that I will be a Vice President who never forgets where I come from.”

“And every day for the next four years, as I walk into the White House to help President Trump, I will do so for you, for your families, for your future and for this great country,” he vowed.

Republicans believe Vance’s story will especially resonate with blue-collar and rural Americans who have been forgotten by coastal elites and the ruling class.

“People feel like Washington has forgotten about them, and that’s J.D. Vance and his family. People all over this country who, like his family, are struggling with drug addiction and poverty,” said former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R). Said “And I think it’s compelling to say that this is someone who can empathize with the kind of people that Donald Trump is championing.”

Republicans believe that if Vance’s story resonates with voters who feel like their story has been forgotten, he could help them win Rust Belt states that are crucial to winning the White House.

“He’s going to connect very well with Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, states that are very important in this upcoming election.” Said Republican congressional candidate Riley Moore of West Virginia: “He embodies those values and a lot of the hardships that he’s been through.”

If elected, Vance would become the third-youngest vice president in U.S. history and the first millennial to hold the office.

The theme of the third day of the convention was “Making America Strong Again,” and he promoted the Republican vision for national security and foreign policy while sharply criticizing President Joe Biden’s handling of these key issues.

In addition to Vance, speakers included Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Donald Trump Jr., Reps. Brian Mast (Fla.), Nancy Mace (S.C.), Ronny Jackson (Texas), North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Kellyanne Conway, as well as family members of American soldiers who died during Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Trump is due to formally accept the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday and address the party’s convention.
