Christian evangelist Franklin Graham spoke and prayed at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Thursday night ahead of former President Donald Trump’s first speech since he was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt on Saturday.
“Last Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, President Trump nearly died. There’s no doubt about it. But God spared his life,” Graham said before the prayer.
“And when we have those experiences, we are changed. It makes us look at our lives and reevaluate our priorities, and it should,” he said.

Graham recounted the moment a bloodied Trump emerged from a crowd of Secret Service agents to show the American people that he had survived the assassination attempt.
“When President Trump rose from the podium, he raised his fist vigorously, signaling to the American people his unwavering commitment to our nation in this fight together,” he said.I can’t explain why God would spare one life and allow another to be taken. I don’t have the answer. But one thing I do know is that God loves us and wants us to be with Him one day in heaven, through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.”
“The Bible says that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,” he continued, quoting a passage from the Bible. John 3:16.
Franklin Graham gave a very powerful speech at the Republican National Convention in which he called on everyone in attendance to pray.
“When President Trump rose from the podium, he raised his fist vigorously and demonstrated to the American people his unwavering commitment to fighting for the American people in this country.

Graham added that throughout his time getting to know Trump he has felt he is a “man of his word.”
“He did what he said he would do. In 2016, he told me and our country that he was going to appoint conservative judges, and guess what? He did it. In 2016, he said he was going to protect religious freedom, and guess what? He did it. “In 2019, I was with him when the first president in the history of this country stood at the United Nations to advocate for religious freedom around the world,” he said. When American citizen and pastor Andrew Brunson was held in a Turkish prison on false charges, President Trump demanded his release and applied economic pressure and sanctions until he was released.”
“I’m grateful and thankful for what he’s accomplished as the 45th President of the United States, and as the 47th President, I know he will keep his promise to the American people to Make America Great Again,” Graham concluded.
