Two decomposing bodies found inside a car in an Arizona parking lot are reportedly those of a missing young woman and her stalker.
According to local authorities, 25-year-old Doris Aguilar was shot by 51-year-old Juan Cuellar and then apparently shot himself in the head. Arizona Family.
The couple were discovered in the parking lot of a gym near Phoenix on July 7, but their bodies had been left in the car for several days.
Before her death, Aguilar told family and friends that Cuellar was dangerous and would not leave her alone, according to private investigator Steve Fisher, who told Arizona Family about the “sick and twisted” crime he has been investigating on behalf of Aguilar’s family, many of whom live in Honduras.
Aguilar, who was known to family and friends as a fitness fanatic, had been missing since July 1.
“She had told her family and important people in her life about this person and told them that if anything ever happened to her, he would be responsible,” Fisher told Arizona Family, adding, “He scared her.”
Fisher said Cuellar worked in the same building as Aguilar until he was fired about a year ago.
The stalker allegedly continued to send Aguilar threatening messages and showed up at her gym unannounced.
Fisher said Aguilar became so afraid of Cuellar that he changed gyms to avoid him.
But on June 27, Cuellar made a shocking Facebook post that appeared to be aimed at Aguilar.
“Lifelong [gym] “I have reinstated my membership. See you soon,” Cuellar posted on Facebook, according to Fisher.
After her family reported her missing, police found Aguilar’s car unlocked outside Christown Shopping Center on July 1 with her belongings still inside.
Six days later, Aguilar and Cuellar’s bodies were found inside a rental sedan in a steakhouse parking lot near what Aguilar once used as a gym.
Fisher said Cuellar rented the car as part of a “luring scheme” to get close to Aguilar, but he doesn’t believe Aguilar was killed in the rented car.
“From what I’ve heard, there is no biological evidence in the vehicle to indicate she was shot inside the vehicle, so it appears she was moved,” Fisher said.
Fisher said Cuellar left a note in the car to make it look like Aguilar had committed suicide.
“He tried to make it look like she committed suicide,” Fisher told Arizona Family.
Data from Aguilar’s cell phone showed that her phone was turned off just after 8 p.m. on July 1. According to Fisher.
Phoenix Police Sergeant Rob Scherer told the outlet that investigators are using surveillance footage from the area where Aguilar’s car was found to piece together details of the crime.
Fisher and Phoenix police did not immediately respond to The Post’s inquiries Sunday.
