Trump Crushes Harris in 13 National Surveys

Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in 13 national polls released in July.

Polls suggest Harris may have no better chance of beating President Trump than President Joe Biden, whose favorability rating is one point lower than Biden’s, according to a RealClearPolitics polling average.

Trump on Sunday said Ms Harris was an easier candidate to beat than Mr Biden in November’s presidential election, after Mr Biden withdrew as the Democratic Party’s de facto nominee.

The 13 polls also contradict a poll by Fernand Amandi, a former pollster for President Barack Obama, who released an internal poll on July 9 showing Harris leading Trump by one point.

Obama, who appears to have played a key role behind the scenes in Biden’s decision to step down, had not questioned the legitimacy of Biden’s candidacy until Wednesday. The Washington Post leak.

The leak came shortly after reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had privately told the president to step down.

The timing of the leak suggests Democratic leaders are moving systematically to force Biden out of the running after weeks of internal party turmoil amid continued media scrutiny of his political viability. “The aim here is that Obama, Pelosi, Jeffries and Schumer don’t want to be seen as the party’s shadow bosses orchestrating Harris’ coronation,” Playbook reports. “And they want to reunite the party when a real challenger is named.”
