Surveillance camera footage shows what appears to be a suspect in a deadly shooting suspected to be linked to the Tren de Aragua gang that happened Sunday outside a migrant shelter in Brooklyn.
A man with a cellphone seen in footage released by the NYPD late Monday is the gunman who jumped off a moped outside 29 Ryerson St. and began firing a barrage of shots, police said.
“They fired shots from their motorbikes and then drove off,” a migrant who witnessed the shooting late Sunday night told The Post.
Police said the bullet struck 21-year-old Venezuelan national Eny DeJesus Urbina Mendez, killing him, while an unidentified 59-year-old man was shot in the head but survived.
The driver of the rogue moped remains at large, and police said they linked the shooting to one that happened earlier that evening in nearby Steuben Park that killed a homeless man, Arturo Jose Rodriguez Marcano, 30.
Police identified Mendez and Rodriguez-Marcano as the victims late Monday.
Law enforcement sources told The Washington Post that the twin shootings came as police were investigating a possible bloody turf war between former members of the Tren de Aragua gang, a bloodthirsty Venezuelan gang vying for control of drugs and prostitution.
Sources said the suspected gang war escalated around 11 p.m. on Sunday when two men in a blue sedan and a scooter were seen roaming the streets near the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Sources said the man stopped a blue sedan outside Steuben Park near Flushing and Steuben streets, jumped from the car and opened fire, killing Rodriguez-Marcano.
About five minutes later, the sedan passed 29 Ryerson St. and the two men on the scooters stopped, according to sources. One of the men jumped off the scooter and opened fire, then jumped back on his moped.
Scooter’s getaway was short-lived.
A video shared on Instagram shows the aftermath of the collision between a scooter and a car at Park Avenue and Taaffe Place. Sources say the scooter driver was injured and arrested, but the passenger, a suspected gunman, fled the scene and was left out in the wind along with the gunman in the sedan.
Clinton Hill residents are outraged over migrant shelters, including one on Ryerson Street in the normally quiet neighborhood. A protest against the shooting is planned for Tuesday at 6 p.m.
