Former President Donald Trump said he accepts the FBI’s “apology,” responding to the agency’s recent admission that he was shot with a rifle bullet by an assassin.
The FBI did not apologize to Trump after FBI Director Christopher Wray questioned whether former President Trump was hit by a “bullet or shrapnel,” but the FBI’s recent statement acknowledging that Trump was shot marks a departure from Wray’s congressional testimony.
“With regards to former President Donald Trump, there are questions as to whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that struck his ear,” Wray said.
Trump spoke at Turning Point USA’s Believers Summit in West Palm Beach on Friday. talked He talked about how a retrospective immigration chart “saved” his life, and how the FBI had made statements questioning whether Trump had actually been hit by a bullet.
“Did you see the FBI apologized today,” Trump continued, referring to the FBI statement, “and they said, ‘Well, it could have been a bullet, but it could have been glass.’ So, actually, where did the glass come from? If you say, ‘Or it could have been shrapnel,’ where did the shrapnel come from?”

“They then said there were shots,” Trump added. “It’s not going to end with these guys. They attacked Mar-a-Lago, they’re doing really bad things. This country is sick. But they apologized. We accept their apology.”
Following Ray’s remarks, Newsweekpreviously published an article titled “Donald Trump May Not Have Been Shot After All,” which suggested the former president was only hit by some of the bullets.
The FBI later issued a statement confirming that Trump had been shot, but said it was “unclear whether the bullet was whole or had broken into smaller fragments”.
“The bullet that struck former President Trump in the ear was fired from a deceased individual’s rifle, either a whole bullet or fragments,” the FBI confirmed to Breitbart News after requesting a statement.
