A third girl died in the UK early Tuesday morning after a mass stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event the previous day.
The nine-year-old girl, who has not been identified, “died in hospital in the early hours of this morning,” Merseyside Police said in a statement.
Police said the other two victims were girls, ages 6 and 7.
Eight other children also suffered stab wounds in the attack, five of them in serious condition.
Police said two adults who were attacked while trying to rescue the children were also in critical condition.
The unidentified 17-year-old suspect is still being questioned by police, who have not yet released any details but said the incident does not appear to be terrorism-related.
