MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) said on “Deadline” Monday that former President Donald Trump is in the “Fat Elvis” phase of his career and is concerned about his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris’ selection as his running mate.
“First, I want to thank my friend Charlie Sykes. I spit out my coffee over the weekend when I saw him say about Trump that he’s in the Fat Elvis phase of his career. I love it. I love it so much. So I couldn’t help but pay tribute to my fellow pundit Charlie Sykes on this show about Fat Elvis. By the way, I’m worried about Fat Elvis and I’m worried about the weirdo he picked as his running mate. These candidates are really good. It won’t matter which one she picks,” McCaskill said.
She added, “I like Tim Walz because he’s candid and approachable. I think Shapiro is doing something really important in Pennsylvania. Pete Buttigieg is obviously one of the most talented communicators in politics right now. They’re all very good. What’s really interesting is that people are trying to make a fuss, get all hyped up and say we’re all fighting over the vice president of our dreams. We’re not fighting. Whoever she picks will be fine. Let’s go.”
