Red state AGs sue Biden-Harris admin over plan to give free health insurance to DACA recipients

A group of Republican attorneys general filed a lawsuit Thursday seeking to block the Biden-Harris administration from providing free health care to undocumented immigrants.

President Biden’s administration is working to allow non-citizen DACA recipients access to Obamacare. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, who is leading the lawsuit, argues that the administration is redefining DACA recipients as “lawfully present” in the United States illegally in order to grant them coverage.

DACA stands for “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals,” a policy that postpones the deportation of illegal immigrants who entered the United States as infants or young children.

Kobach argues that defining DACA recipients as being in the country legally is “laughable.”

“To qualify for DACA, someone must be in the United States illegally. The 2012 memorandum that created DACA makes clear that it ‘confers no substantive rights, immigration status, or a path to citizenship. Only Congress may grant those rights through its legislative power.’ And at least two federal courts have found DACA illegal,” Kobach wrote in an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal.

After Trump’s conviction, Biden openly defies Supreme Court ruling but calls for respect for legal system

“The Biden-Harris rule will make the border disaster worse. If word of our tax-funded health care reaches their home countries, even more illegal immigrants will cross. Encouraging illegal activity will only lead to more illegal activity,” he added.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Kobach filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration earlier this year. Student Loan Forgiveness program. Biden has long sought a legal path to unilaterally forgive student loan debt but has yet to succeed.

The Savings for a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan, announced by the administration last year, would help millions of borrowers enrolled in federal student loan programs lower their monthly payments and pave the way for debt forgiveness.
