Former California legislator suggests Trump mixed up Black men in helicopter story

In an interview with Politico, former California Senator Nate Holden said he was the black man who was on the helicopter with former President Trump, denying Trump’s claim that it was Willie Brown.

“Willie is a short black man who lives in San Francisco.” Holden He told Politico. “I’m a tall black guy who lives in Los Angeles.”

“I think we’re all alike,” Holden added.

Holden is Part of a growing group Willie Brown, the former California Assembly Speaker and former lover of Vice President Harris, denied Trump’s claim that he was on a helicopter with Trump and that it nearly crashed.

Trump Claimed “I’m not sure I’m a Republican, but I think it’s important to be honest with myself,” Brown said during a news conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday after being asked by a reporter about Harris’ background and her relationship with Brown.

“Well, I know Willie Brown very well,” Trump said. “In fact, I was in a helicopter crash with him.”

“I know him very well, even though I haven’t seen him in years,” Trump continued. “He’s said some nasty things to me about her.”

“He had a lot to do with what happened with Kamala, but he, I don’t know, maybe he changed his tune, but he wasn’t a fan of hers at that point,” he added.

Brown fired back at Trump’s claims, calling them “fiction.”

Brown also said he had not spoken to Trump about Harris. tell The San Francisco Chronicle reported that he “has never said a bad word about any woman.”

Trump responded to Brown by citing a 2011 article in which Brown spoke about her relationship with Trump.

“In an article dated April 15, 2011, Willieth talks about her good friend Donald Trump. She remembers Trump sending a private jet to Boston to pick her up.” Trump wrote in his Truth Social. “He’s just trying to get on Trump’s jet (helicopter!) again. But now Willie doesn’t remember? No he does!”

Trump also criticised a New York Times report which fact-checked his claims.

The New York Times and other media outlets quickly fact-checked Trump’s claims, with the New York Times reporting that Trump had been on a “horrific helicopter ride” but that Brown had not been on the helicopter.

Times Reported on Friday Trump reportedly had a heated phone conversation with one of the paper’s reporters, during which he threatened to sue the paper.

“Two New York Times reporters have questioned my story about a helicopter carrying former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and others making an emergency landing in a field. First of all, that happened in New Jersey, not California, and it was Willie Brown, not former Governor Jerry Brown,” Trump said. he wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“So far it’s been as accurate as their other articles about me. At least when I became president, The New York Times apologized to its readers for their very bad coverage of the presidential election,” he continued.
