Apparently, COVID-19 couldn’t keep Noah Lyles down for long.
In the video, released on Monday, just days after she was forced to withdraw from Olympic competition due to the coronavirus pandemic, Lyles was seen dancing vigorously at L’Arc nightclub in Paris.
The 27-year-old placed third in the 200m final on Aug. 8 and had to be removed from the track in a wheelchair. It was later revealed he had the virus and ran the race while running a 102-degree fever.
Two days after winning bronze, Lyles, who won gold in the photo-finish 100 metres, announced he was fully recovered.
“Thankfully, I am Covid-free,” the Olympian wrote in an Aug. 10 post on X alongside a photo of his negative Covid-19 test, two days before video surfaced of him out and about in Paris on Sunday.
Lyles was enjoying the night with his compatriots listening to Pop Smoke, while Simone Biles was also at the club. According to TMZ:.
“I told you guys bro you posted on your page that you tested negative for Covid so you can go to a party and no one will look at you funny,” one X user said. wrote a video of his celebration.“What a man.”
The star sprinter’s mother said she was concerned for her son’s welfare after he collapsed on the track after the 200 metres.

“One of the most terrifying moments of my life,” Keisha Kane Bishop wrote on Instagram. “I watched as my son clutched his chest and gasped for breath while stadium security pleaded with medics to call for them. They made no attempt to help and were completely ignored! No parent should ever have to feel this helpless!”
Lyles has dealt with numerous health issues throughout his life.
“I have asthma, allergies, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, anxiety and depression,” he wrote in an emotional message sent during the Olympics, “but I want to say that what you have does not determine what you can become.
“Why not you!”
