MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said on “Deadline” Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is making former President Donald Trump look like a “fool.”
“I think what she’s done on immigration – taking the offensive on what is seen as a political liability – is part of the reason why everybody is breathing a sigh of relief. It’s part of the relief. I think Joe Biden pioneered that shift with the State of the Union, with Republican senators who he worked with saying, ‘Yes, that’s true.’ But when you see Vice President Harris do it in the political arena and the crowd erupts, I think Eddie’s argument is this is a complicated bill. Her argument is we tried to solve it and Trump killed it. It’s just a special skill that she’s demonstrating at an immigration rally,” Wallace said.
“There’s a rule in politics: if you’re on the defensive, you lose. She knows that rule and she’s not on the defensive. She’s not even allowing herself to be on the defensive,” said former senator Claire McCaskill.
“So what Trump projected was a darkness that scared us all. I think one of the great achievements of the younger Harris/Waltz candidacy is that that balloon has popped and now Trump looks like just a moron,” Wallace said.
